For round fire pits, measure the inner diameter. For rectangular trays, measure the length and width of the space you will fill.

2. Choose the fill depth

Typical depths are 2″–4″. Most features look best at about 2–3 inches.

3. Quick estimates (no math)

• 18″ round, ~2″ deep → ~20 lbs (2 bags)
• 24″ round, ~2″ deep → ~35 lbs (4 bags)
• 30″ round, ~3″ deep → ~55 lbs (6 bags)
